Maybe that is part of it as well, I suppose, because if you were lining up headshots with ease, then the scramble part of the experience would become less visible. And it starts becoming noticeable when you get a handle on things. The gun accuracy is weird, in that it way less accurate than makes sense. If you could get behind strong, good protection cover, then the scramble for your lives part of the experience would not be there. All you can do is constantly react and move. You are fighting for your lives against terrible odds, and you are constantly being pushed forward with no ability to plan or come to grips with what is happening. I think that the cover system is similar, in that cover is shoddy and limited and breakable. A camera is our window into a fictional world, and the fact that the camera's behaviour and quality is similar to the world it portrays helps link us to that in a way that a pristine camera would not do. The core concept of the game is that this is horrible reality, and everything is out of control. I would say though that the camera supports the whole experience, and makes it feel closer to what is happening. I totally understand the comment that the camera is unpleasant.

I did play it, in coop, and I really enjoyed it for some reason. Have you played Kane and Lynch 2? What did you think of it?

So I wanted to ask one of my favorite gaming communities on reddit. I'm going to play it again along with the first one to capture footage, but I was hoping this time to not go in with such a negative perspective and instead see the potential good that the game has to offer. I'm bringing this all up because I wanted to actually make a video about just how bad I feel it is, but going on steam recently showed that it's most recent reviews were Very Positive, and I was really surprised. Starting with the 'camera man' perspective that results in dizzying, nauseating camera movement straight out of r/killthecameraman, to cover based shooting gameplay that doesnt even protect you from being shot at while behind cover. I'm not really complaining about its gore or edgy lead characters, I'm talking about every design decision that went into the game. The old /r/patientgamers Essential Games ListĪ while back I played this game for the length of its campaign, a mere 2.2 hours, and found it to be one of my worst, most unpleasant experiences playing a video game.
